UNIQLO, 17000 ft Foundation Distribute Thermal Wear to Students in Drass

Drass, October 14: Deputy Commissioner Drass Imteeaz Kacho (JKAS) attended a thermal clothing distribution programme at Government High School, Salampora, organised by the 17000 ft Foundation in collaboration with Japanese clothing brand UNIQLO to support students in the region’s harsh winter conditions.

Thermal winter clothing and gifts were distributed among students to help them stay warm during the winter months. UNIQLO representatives also explained how thermal clothing technology helps retain body heat in extreme cold.

The programme was attended by LAHDC Councillor Abdul Samad, DIET-Kargil Principal Khurshida Bano, education officials, UNIQLO India Head Kenji, and representatives of the 17000 ft Foundation, along with teachers, Village Education Committee members and students.

Addressing the gathering, Kacho appreciated the initiative, stressing the importance of quality education, teacher training and students’ overall development. He urged students to remain focused on their studies, avoid drugs and limit excessive mobile phone use.

The Deputy Commissioner also acknowledged the contribution of UNIQLO and the 17000 ft Foundation towards student welfare and improving the educational environment in remote and high-altitude areas.
