UoL hosts programme for delegates of World Peace Rally-2022
Leh, July 14: University of Ladakh Leh Campus hosted a programme for the delegates of World Peace Rally-2022 near Chamba Statue at Taru Campus of UoL.
The rally was flagged off from Sabarmati / Gandhi Ashram, Ahmedabad on July 1 to spread the message of Peace. The World Peace Rally-2022 travelled through five states and three Union Territories including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, J&K Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, over a period of 20 days covering over 5,000 km in eight SUVs.
Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. S. K Mehta welcomed the delegates with traditional Khataks.
The students of Leh Campus presented a colourful musical performance during the programme. The visiting delegation presented books on the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi written in different languages to the Library of the Leh Campus. Later, the World Peace Rally-2022 delegates visited the Gujarat Centre, which is set up in Leh Campus to showcase the culture of Gujarat.
Prof. Neena Mehta, Dean Academic Affairs, Rayat Bahra University, Mohali, Punjab, Konchok Angmo, Director, Leh Campus, Dr Sonam Joldan, Dean Research, University of Ladakh, Dr Jigmat Dachen, Dean Students Welfare, University of Ladakh, faculty members and students were present during the programme.
