Upper Leh & Lower Leh Councillors call on LG Mathur, request to allow two-way traffic on Changspa, Fort Road Delegation from Contractors Welfare Association Kargil raises several issues

Leh, May 16: A delegation comprising Upper Leh Councillor, Stanzin Tsepag; Lower Leh Councillor, Tsering Namgial and President, Anjuman Imamia, Leh, Ashraf Ali Barcha, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas today.

The delegation raised several issues related to his constituency, including allowing two-way traffic on Changspa Main Road and Fort Road for economic activities in these two areas and the involvement of concerned councillors in the decision-making process involving the development of his/her constituency.

Another delegation comprising members of Contractors Welfare Association, Kargil, raised several issues, viz. release of liabilities of works done under various government projects, including works sanctioned under Central Road Funds (CRF), Flood Management Programme and Irrigation and Flood Control, maintenance of NH 301 Kargil-Zanskar Road, transfer of security deposits deposited with the Director Treasuries of Jammu and Kashmir to UT Ladakh; permission for extraction of mining due to non-availability of mining material such as sand, gravel, stones, etc; relaxation in work experience for local contractors for big project works; revision of schedule of rates (SOR) by the Rural Development Department to execute their works, etc.
