UT Ladakh creates Women Police Station in Kargil
The Home Department of the UT Ladakh has issued a new notification No: Home/UTL (160)2023-633-52 dated March 17, 2023 to create a Women Police Station in Kargil.
The Women Police Station will be responsible for registering and investigating all offenses where the victims can approach directly. This step has been taken to make it easier for women to report crimes without any fear or hesitation.
The Women Police Station will have jurisdiction to investigate various offenses related to women, such as eve-teasing, kidnapping, rape, dowry prohibition, sexual harassment, and exploitation of trafficked persons.
