Leh, December 8: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, held a series of constructive meetings at the LG Secretariat with multiple delegations from across the Union Territory. The discussions focused on education, youth development, community concerns, and welfare initiatives aimed at improving public services in Ladakh.




Rehbar-e-Khel Teachers Seek Regularisation
A delegation of Rehbar-e-Khel (ReK) physical education teachers—led by former Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Shri Jamyang Tsering Namgyal—met the LG to highlight their long-standing service.
The teachers informed that they have completed nearly seven years of dedicated work in government schools across Ladakh and requested the regularisation of their positions to secure their future and recognise their contributions to school sports and student development.
NCC Cadets Present Armed Forces Flag to LG
Another delegation comprising NCC cadets, headed by Col Lobzang Nima (Retd), Director of Rajya Sainik Board, UT Ladakh, called on the Lieutenant Governor in connection with the Armed Forces Flag Day collection drive.
During the meeting, the cadets presented the Armed Forces Flag to the LG as a symbol of respect, solidarity, and gratitude for India’s armed forces.
Proposal for BSc Nursing College in Kargil
Shri Pankaj Sangral, Chairman of Sanjeevni Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences, Kargil, also met the LG to discuss his proposal for establishing a BSc Nursing College in Kargil.
The initiative aims to expand medical education opportunities in the region and strengthen Ladakh’s healthcare workforce.
Delegation from Poyen Raises Local Concerns
In another meeting, representatives from Poyen village apprised the Lieutenant Governor of several local issues, including:
Shortage of adequate drinking water in the main town of Kargil The need to rationalise subsidy components meant for LAHDC Kargil Councillors Ensuring timely distribution of welfare benefits to all eligible beneficiaries
The delegation emphasised the urgency of resolving these issues to improve daily life for residents.
LG Assures Timely Interventions
Lieutenant Governor Shri Kavinder Gupta assured all delegations that the UT Administration remains committed to addressing public concerns through timely, effective, and people-centric interventions.
He reiterated that the administration is focused on ensuring welfare, development, and equitable progress for the people of Ladakh.
