Workshop on export awareness, capacity building held in Kargil

Kargil, March 15, 2023:

District Industries and Commerce Department Kargil in collaboration with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) today organized one-day workshop on export awareness and capacity building at Conference Hall, Council Secretariat.

On the occasion, resource person A.K Bhushan, Deputy Director DGFT and Anju resource person were present physically while Deputy Director, Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) Gaurav Gupta and Assistant Director Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME), DFO Jammu, Rajesh Tyagi joined virtually. The other participants included women entrepreneurs, SHGs and others.

The Deputy Director DGFT briefed the participants about various government schemes for export promotion and documentation required for online registration.

He said local products like yak milk, apricot, yak wool, apple etc. have huge potential in local and international markets stressing entrepreneurs to focus on these products.

Anju gave a detailed presentation on online process of registration for the Import Export Code (IEC) and its importance for the import-export business.

Rajesh Tyagi in his online presentation highlighted the importance of various MSMEs schemes run by the Government of India. He also talked about the importance of Udyam Registration and its benefits for MSMEs.

Gaurav Gupta in his online presentation spoke about the benefits of registration on the Indian Business Portal and informed about free online business and easy and affordable credit ratings.

The workshop was aimed to provide valuable insights on the import-export business enabling the participants to take advantage of various government schemes and initiatives to boost the export business of local products from UT Ladakh.
