Workshop on State Energy Efficiency Action Plan for stakeholders held in Kargil

KARGIL, APRIL 16, 2022: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani today chaired a workshop for stakeholders on State Energy Efficiency Action Plan (SEEAP) in Kargil.

 

The workshop was aimed to assess current energy consumption pattern of State/UT and identify the current challenges in implementation of existing policies to develop short-term (5 years) and long-term (10 years) energy efficiency action plan for UT Ladakh.

Addressing on the occasion, the ADC said until and unless all the departments cooperate with the Power Development Department, the key targets to reduce carbon emissions can’t be achieved. He instructed the departmental heads to cooperate with the PDD.

 

Project Coordinator ASSOCHAM, Kishan Khatri appraised the district officers regarding different sectors and type of data required to gather for the formulation of short and long-term energy efficiency action plan.

 

The series of workshop that may run for next few months will identify new policies required, implementation methodology and expected benefits to achieve State/UT energy efficiency and sector-specific targets in different sectors including industries, agriculture, transport buildings, municipalities and other sectors.

 

The key tasks assigned to achieve in the SEEAP workshops are identification of Key Stakeholders in UT Ladakh, assessment of the status of policies and their implementation, State/UT-level survey for the identification of the focus sector, State/UT Level gap identification followed by Gap Analysis Report, Establishing Structure of State Energy Efficiency Action Plan (SEEAP), Preparation of Draft 5 Year & Long-term Action Plan for Ladakh, Preparation of a Monitoring Plan, Stakeholder Workshop for Conclusion and Implementation Support, Preparation of Final Action Plan for the UT Ladakh, Validation and Adoption Workshop and Whitepaper on Policies and Implementation.

 

The meeting was attended by ACD Ghulam Mohammad, Project Coordinator ASSOCHAM Kishan Khatri, Executive Engineer PDD Vijahat Ali Mir, Executive Engineer PDD Ashraf Majid, DCHO Raza Ali, DCAO Kacho Muhammad Ali Khan, Executive Engineer PHE Muhammad Hassan, CMO Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Deputy Director Industries Iftikhar Ahmad Choudhary, ARTO Khadim Hussain, Project Director KREDA Kacho Ahmad Khan, other district officers and officials of PDD.
