YSS Leh celebrates National Sports Day at Open Stadium Spituk

Leh, Aug 29: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Leh celebrated the National Sports Day at Open Stadium, Spituk, Leh with the theme ‘Sports for Unity’ along with the rest of the country.
National Sports Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand and the day is also dedicated to the nation’s sports heroes and champions, honouring their contribution and dedication to bringing laurels to the country.

Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, Moses Kunzang was present as the chief guest. While Everester Rigzen Dolkar; Marathon runner Jigmet Dolma; Cyclist Lakzes Angmo and other sports persons were present as special guests during the National Sports Day celebration at Leh.

Around 28 schools of the Leh district participated in various games such as football, 4×100 meter relay race and 100m race for both boys and girls.

In the end, chief guest Moses Kunzang distributed prizes to the winners of the different games.
