Kargil, September 28, 2026: In a significant gesture of support for inclusive education and the welfare of children with special needs, 121 Infantry Brigade today handed over various items worth approximately ₹30 lakh to the Children with Special Needs (CWSN) School, Kargil, under Operation Sadbhavna.
The items were formally received by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Kargil, Shri Ghulam Mohammad, from Col. Harikrishnan N, Deputy Commander, 121 Infantry Brigade Group.
The assistance includes therapeutic equipment, air conditioners, RO water purifiers, water dispensers, furniture, stationery, kitchen items and other essential materials required for the smooth functioning of the school.
The support is expected to significantly strengthen the facilities and improve the learning environment for children with special needs. At present, 40 students from different areas of the district are enrolled at the school and are benefiting from its specialised educational and supportive services.
Speaking on the occasion, ADDC Kargil, Shri Ghulam Mohammad, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Indian Army, particularly 121 Infantry Brigade, for its generous assistance and continued commitment towards the welfare of the people of Kargil.
He appreciated the Brigade’s valuable contribution towards the establishment and strengthening of the CWSN School and said that the assistance would go a long way in providing better facilities, care and educational opportunities to children with special needs.
The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued commitment under Operation Sadbhavna to community welfare, inclusive development and support for vulnerable sections of society in the region.
The District Administration Kargil expressed its appreciation to 121 Infantry Brigade for this meaningful contribution towards building a more inclusive and supportive educational environment for children with special needs.
