VC UoL visits GMS Karith
VC Accompanied other dignitaries was welcomed with a special welcome song by the students of the school
KARGIL 31 OCTOBER 2021:-Vice Chancellor University of Ladakh Prof. Surinder Kumar Mehta, Dean Academics/COE-UOL Prof. Deskyong Namgyal, Director Kargil Campus- UOL Madam Kaneez Fatima along with the faculty members of Kargil Campus-UOL visited the Government Middle School Karith Shargol.
The visit was made as a part of recently conducted One Week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) by UOL celebrating the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Mr. Mohd Ali Akhone National Awardee and HeadMaster of the school was recently conferred by the University of Ladakh with a certificate of appreciation for his out of the box initiative of setting up subject specific classrooms in his School.
The dignitaries were duly received by the Mr. Mohd Ali Akhone, Headmaster and other faculty members of the School.
At the onset, the Honorable Vice Chancellor along with the other dignitaries was welcomed with a special welcome song by the students of the school.
The Visit was then followed by the demonstration of subject specific classrooms wherein Mr. Mohd Ali Akhone and his team briefed the visitors about various Teaching and Learning Models used to enhance the learning outcomes and overall quality of education in the school. Mr. Mohd Ali Akhone also made a Presentation before the visiting dignitaries and highlighted the major initiatives undertaken by him and his team. VC UoL visits GMS Karith

After concluding the demonstration of subject specific classrooms, the visit was then followed by speech from Mr. Ghulam Hassan (President Yuwa Kartih) and Mr. Akhone Yousuf (Sarpanch) who wholeheartedly welcomed the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and his team to the village in general and the school in particular. They also appreciated the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and his team for taking time to visit despite having busy schedule and under such harsh climatic conditions.
The Programme was followed by the address of worthy Director, Kargil Campus-UOL, Ms. Kaneez Fatima wherein she appreciated the unparalleled efforts made by Mr. Mohd Ali Akhone and his team including the villagers to enhance the overall quality of education and understanding of students through TLM Models. Ms. Kaneez also highlighted the need to sensitize other teachers of government schools in the district to visit this school as a model for quality education and inclusive teaching learning.
Further Director, while highlighting the need of promoting such constructive and revolutionary ideas in education, made an announcement of Rs. 50,000 as her personal contribution for further development of the school.
Dean Academics/COE-UOL Prof. Deskyong Namgyal while addressing the gathering also appreciated the innovative efforts made by Mr. Mohd Ali Akhone and his team. He further assured for all possible support needed in the near future for the development of the school.
The Programme was followed by presidential address from Hon’ble Vice Chancellor University of Ladakh Prof. Surinder Kumar Mehta. Prof. Mehta while addressing the gathering highlighted the unmatchable innovative contribution of Mr. Mohd Akhone and his team in developing the out of the box concept of subject specific classrooms in such a difficult and remote village Kartih.
Appreciating such innovative initiatives, Prof. Mehta made a historic announcement of Adoption of Govt. Middle School Kartih by the University of Ladakh in order to contribute in the futher development of the school.
The Adoption is aimed to extent all possible support from University of Ladakh to the school for its overall development
The programme was concluded with a formal vote of thanks from Mr. Mohd Ali Akhone on behalf of himself, faculty of the school and villagers, wholeheartedly expressed their sincere gratitude to Honorable Vice Chancellor and all the dignitaries for taking time and visiting the model school.
Mr. Mohd Ali Akhone specifically thanked Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and Worthy Director for their contribution and proposed future collaboration for the development of the school.
