5th Edition of Enchanting Ladakh at Dilli Haat INA

 

Kargil Jan 20: The 5th Edition of Enchanting Ladakh, a prestigious exhibition cum sale showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Ladakh, was inaugurated on the 18th of January at Dilli Haat INA.

 

Enchanting Ladakh, organized annually by the Department of Industries and Commerce, UT Ladakh has been a testament to the diverse Ladakhi culture and tradition for the past four years since Ladakh became a Union Territory.

 

The event features a display of traditional Ladakhi crafts with live demonstrations at the venue. A total of 126 artisans, self-help groups (SHGs), and entrepreneurs from Ladakh are participating, including 50 artisans and 8 entrepreneurs from kargil , showcasing and selling their exquisite handmade products.

 

This year, special emphasis has been placed on products recently certified with the Geographical Indication (GI) tag, including pashmina wool, wood carving craft, sea buckthorn, and the Raktse Karpo variety of apricot.

 

Present at the event were Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce UT Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar, Director, Industries and Commerce, Mohd. Nazir Sheikh, General Manager DIC Rehmatullah Butt , Assistant Director Imtisaal Rasool along with many distinguished guests from the government and private sectors.

 

The Event at Dilli Haat, near INA market will conclude on the 31st January, 2024.
