DIET Kargil organizes Nipun Bharat Mission Maha TLM Mela

KARGIL, AUGUST 30, 2022:

To share and enhance the best Teaching Learning Material (TLM) among teachers, District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Kargil today organized Nipun Bharat Mission Maha TLM Mela at DIET Campus Chutuk, Kargil. Executive Councillor for Tourism, Er Phunsuk Tashi presided over the function as chief guest.

Teachers from schools across the district presented various models on TLM on creative and play way method learning that were judged by district level judges of which top 10 teachers will participate in State level competition.

Speaking on the occasion, EC Tashi appreciated the Education Department and DIET for providing such a platform to the teaching fraternity for the first time. He further appreciated the teachers for introducing TLM in school curriculum.

Tashi further said that Nipur Bharat Mission is aimed to improve the teaching-learning method in schools. He said education is a priority sector for LAHDC Kargil which is reflected from the fact that the education portfolio is being looked after by Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil himself.

EC Tashi further said that to streamline the Education Department, the LAHDC started the transfer policy of teachers, developed model schools and allowed like-minded teachers to work at schools of their choice.

He said that teachers will be recruited on contractual basis by the headmaster while buses have provided to some schools. EC Tashi informed that each Councillor will make at least one model school in his constituency.

Principal DIET, Moulvi Abdul Qayoom said the mela has provided a platform to the teachers to express and exhibit their teaching innovations and creative methods called TLM while enhancing their skills in interaction with other teachers across the UT.

Nodal Officer for Nipun Bharat Mission, Sadiq Ali desired the teachers to compile TLM models in shape of a book so that the creative methods could become an asset for the Education Department.

State Nodal Officer for Teachers Learning/DIET faculty Dr Wilayat Ali said a similar Zonal level TLM mela was held in all the seven zones of the district of which seven teachers from each zone were selected to participate in District level TLM Mela.

The Mela is aimed to achieve 100 percent affluent skills to achieve among students at national level as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The primary objective of the mission is professional development of teachers, infrastructure development, good governance and curriculum development at school level.

The Ranthak Theater Group presented a play on the effective use of TLM in school curriculum and learning process. The Roqs group presented a beautiful song on Nipun Mission and patriotic song.

The chief guest also distributed prizes and momentos among the winners of the TLM Mela.

On the occasion, the teachers took NIPUN Bharat Mission Pledge to ensure a conducive learning environment enabling all children to achieve foundational skills.

The teachers vowed to make school a place of joyful and experiential learning where children can use their language freely, ask questions freely, play freely, and where every child is treated with respect.

Besides EC Tashi, Chief Education Officer Mushtaq Ahmad, Principal Diet Abdul Qayoom, Nodal Officer Nipun Bharat Mission Sadiq Ali, Zonal Education Officer and teacher participants of the Nipun Bharat Maha TLM Mela were present on the occasion.
