EC Mohsin convenes meeting with officers of Agriculture Department Kargil

Kargil, August 30, 2022:

Executive Councilor Agriculture, LAHDC, Kargil, Mohsin Ali today convened a review meeting with officers of Agriculture Department Kargil.

During the meeting, Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil presented physical and financial achievements for the year 2021-22 and details of proposals/projects submitted to the UT Administration and funds released as on date for the year 2022-23 of all schemes relating to the Agriculture Department.

The CAO informed the meeting that under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, 12,748 beneficiaries have been registered out of the total target of 13043 farmers.

Similarly, under Soil Health Card Scheme, 26,725 Soil Cards have been issued to farmers. Total 982 soil samples were collected and 564 were uploaded on SHC Portal.

Under Kisan Credit Card Scheme 15,775 credit cards were given to the beneficiaries out of the total 18,159 eligible beneficiaries.

The Agriculture Extension Officers presented their previous year target and achievements in detail.

EC Mohsin directed the Agriculture Extension Officers to contact with Councilors and PRI members and get the list of beneficiaries of various schemes to be implemented during the current financial year.

The CAO Kargil informed that most of the Councilors have not provided the list of beneficiaries allotted to them for the construction of Ladakh Green House and Vermicompost during the year 2022-23.

On the other hand, most of the interested farmers are approaching them for allotment of Ladakh Green House in their favour and accordingly requested to place the same at the disposal of the Agriculture Department for allotting to the interested beneficiaries.

The Executive Councilor informed that he will personally monitor the scheme and take necessary action at suitable time.
