District-level multilingual Hussaini Mushaira concludes at Kargil
KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 03, 2022:
A day-long district-level multilingual Hussaini Mushaira organized by Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Kargil concluded today at Academy Hall Kargil.
The event was aimed to pay poetic tributes to the martyrs of Karbala and to give impetus to religious poetry in vernacular languages. The event was attended by 20 poets.
Aga Sayed Hadi Sahah was Sadar-e-Mehfil on the occasion while Padma Shri awardee Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat as was the chief guest and Ghulam Ahmad Khan Jawan (State Awardee) was guest of honour.
On the occasion, the chief guest congratulated the academy for organizing such poetic events and expressed the need to continue such programs to boost art of religious poetry.
Sahah recalled the supreme sacrifices made by Imam Hussain (A.S) and his companions for the sake of Islam, humanity and its relevance in the present times.
He stressed on the need to follow the path of truth, piousness and righteousness laid by the Imam so as to bring peace, prosperity, harmony, brotherhood and order in the world.
During the poetic symposium, poets who recited their compositions include Padma Shri awardee Akhoone Asgar Ali Basharat (Balti), Ghulam Ahmad Khan Jawan (Sheena), Aga Sayed Hadi Sahah, (Purgi/Balti) Mohd Ibrahim Rahi (Purgi), Bashir Ahmad Wafa (Balti), Ghulam Qadir Zaki (Sheena), Sibte Hassan Kaleem (Balti), Akhone Ali Subeor (Balti), Mohd Ali Ashur (Balti), Raza Amjad Badgami (Sheena), Mohd Yaseen Ansari (Sheena), Mohd Hussain Rahnuma (Purgi), Mohd Ali Baba (Urdu/Purgi), Fida Ali Fida (Sheena/Urdu), Fida Hussain Wazir Fida (Purgi), Mohd Hussain Fayaz (Purgi), Sajaad Ali Shujaat (Purgi), Raza Saqi (Balti), Taqi Khan Nayaab (Purgi), Nissar Hussain Nissar, Arif Hussain Dardi, (Dardi), Ghulam Nabi Skit (Balti), Abdul Hadi Balti (Balti), Archo Sakina (Urdu), Zakir Hussain Karbalaie.
They paid rich poetic tributes to the martyrs of Karbala through their Hussaini poetic renderings in Balti, Sheena/Dardi, Purgi and Urdu languages which were highly applauded by the audience.
Earlier, Deputy Secretary Culture, Nazir Hussain, while welcoming the dignitaries and participants spoke about the aims and objectives of the 2-day literary event.
He also highlighted the problems and issues of Academy Sub Office Kargil. He also spoke about various activities being organized by Ladakh Cultural Academy in the district during the current year.
Young and dynamic poet, Sajaad Ali Shujaat conducted the program proceedings while Cultural Assistant, LAACL, Kargil, Mohd Abass presented vote thanks.
Among others who were present on the occasion included writers, poets, district officers, prominent citizens, school children and a jam-packed gathering of literary enthusiasts.
