Acting CEC Syed Abass Razvi inspects winter tuition centres at Drass

Visits FCS&CA stores, SDH Drass

Assures redressal of grievances put forth by local representatives

KARGIL, FEBRUARY 08, 2022

Acting Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil/Executive Councilor for Works Aga Syed Abbas Razvi today inspected winter tuition centres in various schools at subdivision Drass and also visited Department of Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) stores at Thasgam, Bhimbhat and Drass.

Incharge Assistant Director FCS&CA, Akbar Ali, ZEO Drass, Ghulam Nabi, incharge SDM Drass Asgar Ali, SHO Police Station Drass, Fazil Abbas besides other concerned officers accompanied the EC during the visit.

During the visit, the acting CEC also visited Govt. High School Thasgam, Govt. Middle School Chokiyal, Govt. Middle School Throngos, Himababs Public Secondary School and Higher Secondary School Drass.


He inquired from students about the availability of teaching staff, facilities like heating system, availability of masks, sanitizers and cleanliness of classrooms.

EC instructed the incharge SDM to submit a report regarding lack of kerosene oil for heating purpose and assured students that the matter would be sorted out within no time.

He directed the teaching staff and students to follow COVID-19 SOPs issued by the district administration Kargil in letter and spirit to help contain the spread of COVID-19.

Razvi assured that LAHDC Kargil is fully committed to provide quality education to the students in these tough times for which several measures have been taken.

The acting CEC was informed that a team comprised of the Education and Health Department and District Administration Kargil is monitoring the winter tuition centers in order to ensure Covid-19 SOPs are followed.

While interacting with students, EC expressed satisfaction over the functioning of winter tuition classes at various schools and ensured to strengthen the education system.

He also appreciated the efforts of teaching staff and village committee members for their continuous support and cooperation in providing education to students.

During the visit, Surpanch Chokiyal, Muhammad Ismail requested the EC about the up-gradation of Middle School Chokiyal and also put forwarded other grievances of the village to which Razvi assured that necessary actions will be taken to sort out the issues.

EC inspected FCS&CA stores at Thasgam, Bhimbhat and Drass and inquired about the availability of stock. He was informed that sufficient stock of food grains and Kerosene oil is available.

He also paid a surprise visit to sub-centre Thasgam and SDH Drass. At SDH Drass, he inspected OPD, wards, labor room, drug store, CBNAAT laboratory and other sections.

At the hospital, he was informed about the dysfunctional central heating system and EC ensured to make it functional on priority for better patient care services.

During the visit, residents of the area requested the EC to keep Dr Syed Zameer, physician permanently at Drass as he has been kept shifting from Drass to Kargil.

The locals informed EC about salary issues of outsourced multitasking staff to which he assured that he will enquire the reasons from CMO Kargil and take necessary action.
