ADC issues 1st Ladakh Resident Certificate in Kargil

 

KARGIL, OCTOBER 18, 2021: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil Tsering Motup in presence of the Tehsildar Kargil Muhammad Salim Wazir and Naib Tehsildar Sajjad Hussain issued the first Resident Certificate in Kargil at Tehsildar Office Kargil here today.

 

The ADC Kargil said on the occasion that as per a recent order, the Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh has authorized the concerned Tehsildars as the competent authority to issue the resident certificate, adding he said that special camps have been held today in all Tehsildar offices in the district today for issuance of the resident certificates. He also congratulated the people of Kargil for getting the resident certificate.

 

ADC Motup said that the process of issuance of certificates will continue at all Tehsildar offices in the district during the coming days. He said that on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Kargil, special camps will be organized by the Tehsildars in different parts of the district in close coordination with the PRI members, Nambardars etc especially in the remote and far off areas to impart awareness to the local population and to facilitate them in issuance of the resident certificates.

 

Meanwhile, Fatima Banoo D/O Muhammad Kazim a resident of Choskore Kargil was the first person to get the Resident Certificate at Tehsildar Office Kargil.

 

Tehsildar Kargil Muhammad Salim Wazir urged the people who are in need of the resident certificate to visit the office of the Tehsildar to process it at the earliest.

 

The Tehsildar Kargil informed on the occasion that procedure to apply for Resident Certificate in respect of Permanent Resident Certificate holder is that the documents including Permanent Resident Certificate, Birth Certificate from Registrar of Death/ Birth or School Leaving/High School Certificate and Government issued Photo Identity Card (Driving Licence/EPIC/Passport/PAN/Aadhar Card/ School-College ID Card) are needed.

 

Similarly, in case of children of persons possessing Permanent Resident Certificate, the documents required are Permanent Resident Certificate of father or certified copy of extract of Misal-e-Haqiyat Jamabandi/Shajra Nasab prior to 1944-AD, in case of landless/nomads, record of Khacharai:1908-09 AD, certified/ attested copy of the current voter list of 1951/1957, if required, Current Revenue Record viz; Jamabandi/ Shajra Nasab, Copy of Ration Card, Government issued Photo Identity Card (Driving Licence/EPIC/Passport/PAN/Aadhar Card/ School-College ID Card), the Tehsildar added.

 

The Tehsildar Kargil stated that in case of persons who would have been eligible to be issued Resident Certificate by the Competent Authority, the documents required would be the Permanent Resident Certificate of father/ brother/ husband or Certified copy of extract of Misal-e-Haqiyat Jamabandi/Shajra Nasab prior to 1944-AD, in case of landless/nomads, record of Khacharai:1908-09 AD, certified/ attested copy of the current voter list of 1951/1957, if required, Current Revenue Record viz; Jamabandi/ Shajra Nasab, Birth certificate from Registrar of Death/ Birth or School Leaving Certificate/ High School Certificate, Copy of Ration Card, Government issued Photo Identity Card (Driving Licence/EPIC/Passport/PAN/Aadhar Card/ School-College ID Card).
