Awareness program on financial crime, corruption held at Kargil

Kargil, July 06, 2023: Employees’ Joint Action Committee, Kargil in collaboration with Financial Crime Unit Kargil, today organized an awareness program on “Financial Crime and Corruption” at Conference Hall, Baroo, Kargil.

During the event, Incharge Financial Crime Unit, Kargil, Shamim Ahmad, SI, FC Unit, Chuskit Angmo, President, EJAC, Kargil Mukhtar Hussain, representations of R&B, Division II, SVD, Sankoo, PHE Division, Kargil, PMGSY Kargil, Education Department, ICDS, Sheep Husbandry, Tehsil Office beside other departments attended the program.

The Incharge Financial Crime Unit introduced the topic and spoke about financial irregularities, corruption, and malpractices in the execution of government works.

He said that corruption is a major obstacle to the economic and social progress of the country and there is a need to work together to eradicate this menace.

Shamim urged the public servants to be fully conscious of their duties and responsibilities and follow the motto of transparency in letter and spirit.

He gave a detailed perspective on types of corruption cases as envisaged in different anti-corruption laws. He highlighted the essence and meaning of “public servants” and “public duty” and discussed corruption forms like bribery, misappropriation, and disproportionate assets, etc.

At the outset, AEE Sadiq Ali briefed on the grievances and put forward the consequences faced by the department. A detailed discussion was held to stop the spread of corruption from society.

Later, the EJAC President thanked the Crime Unit Kargil for organizing such an event and also hoped to organize such events jointly in the future.
