CEC Feroz Khan chairs review meeting of ongoing works under SDP

Kargil, April 24, 2023:

On the instructions of Lt. Governor of Ladakh, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra that Special Development Package (SDP) should be vetted by the LAHDC Kargil, Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting regarding discussion on ongoing SDP of various departments at the Council Secretariat, Kargil.

Executive Councilor for RD, Tourism, Zanskar Affairs, Er Punchok Tashi, EC Social Welfare, Aga Syed Mehdi, EC Health, Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Chief Executive Officer, Kargil Development Authority (KDA), SE PW (R&B) PHE, I&FC, SE Mechanical, Chief Planning Officer Kargil, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Executive Engineer R&B-II, Executive Engineer Suru Valley Division Sankoo, Executive Engineer REW, Executive Officer MC, Kargil, AD Information Kargil, AD Tourism, District Social Welfare, District Culture Officer, Principal Polytechnic, Principal GDC Drass and other concerned officers were present during the meeting.

At the outset, the CEC was informed about various ongoing SDP plans, allocation, expenditure and status of 16 departments including Labour Department, ITI, Tourism, Information, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Social Welfare, Polytechnic, ICDS, Culture, PWD, I&FC, PHE, Mechanical Division, REW, SVD Sankoo, MC Kargil, Employment and works taken by executing agencies like the CPWD, NHIDCL etc.

While addressing the meeting, the CEC directed that all the plans under SDP scheme of the district should be vetted by LAHDC, Kargil. He said after discussion and approval of the LAHDC, the proposals shall be sent to the UT Administration for approval.

The CEC further stressed that under SDP, the LAHDC, Kargil will monitor all the projects. He directed the concerned departments to approve the action plans. The CEC also reviewed the allocation of ongoing SDP scheme for the Financial Year 2023-24.

Khan also directed the District Social Welfare Officer, Kargil for wide publicity of all Social Welfare Schemes in the district at the earliest.

The proposals of new works for the Financial Year 2023-24 were also presented and various developmental works under SDP were discussed. Various steps that need to be taken for timely completion of development were discussed in the meeting.

The CEC directed the officers to synergise their efforts so that the requisite results are achieved within the stipulated time and also get necessary feedback about the status of works and implementation of various initiatives on the ground.

In the meeting, it was informed that the remaining departments such as Police, Finance and various other departments will be discussed tomorrow on April 25.
