CEC Kargil attends Mutahhary Inter School Mega Sports event

Kargil, June 08, 2024: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today attended Mutahhary Inter School Mega Sports Event at Kurbathang, Kargil.

At the event, the CEC lauded the Mutahhary Group of Schools for their role in promoting sports and emphasized that it is important for maintaining physical and mental health.

He highlighted the necessity of being physically and morally fit and urged students to focus on sportsmanship, leadership, and other essential fields of life.

The CEC also paid tribute to the founder of MPS, the late Sheikh Mohammad Hussain Zakiri, acknowledging his substantial contributions to the education system in Kargil.  

He proposed that the school faculty consider transitioning their curriculum to the CBSE pattern to enhance educational standards. He also announced Rs 5 lakh from the Council to purchase sports equipment to carry out sporting activities.

While distributing prizes to winners and runners-up teams, CEC encouraged the players to take in the sports activities and excel at national events.

The Academic Head of the Mutahhary Educational Society, Nasir Ud Din Khafi, highlighted the achievements of Mutahhary Educational Society (MES), noting that the school is excelling across its various branches.

He stressed the importance of combining spiritual and physical strength with knowledge. He also commended the host school for concluding the event without any clashes among the teams, marking it as a great success.

Executive Councillor for Education, LAHDC, Kargil, Zakir Hussain; Chief Patron of MES, Asgar Karbalai; General Secretary IKMT, G M Khan; Chairman of MES, Haji Fida Hussain Wazir; Principal MPS High Department along with faculty members and students from various schools were present on the occasion.

At the event, 520 students from 14 private and govt. schools participated in under 14 and under 17 boys and girls categories in Volleyball, Handball and Kho Kho games.
