CEC Leh inaugurates Community Museum at Sasoma village in Gya
Leh, April 03: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson today inaugurated the Community Museum at Sasoma village in Gya. The Community Museum is a joint collaboration between National Museum Institute, New Delhi and Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh.
CEC Tashi Gyalson congratulated and appreciated the people of Gya, Sasoma village for the Community Museum. He also appreciated the contribution of the people for creating a source of income for themselves and also preserving the heritage. He stated that the museum will become a self-sustaining place and will also provide a boost to tourism. He suggested that the people must work on preserving the rich culture and heritage of Ladakh. He appreciated the efforts of Ama Tsogspa (Womenโs Alliance of Ladakh).
Adv Tashi Gyalson shared that LAHDC leh is working towards the preservation of art and culture of Ladakh in collaboration with the Cultural Academy.
During his address, EC Art/Culture, Stanzin Chosphel congratulated the people of Gya and NMI for the establishment of Community Museum. He said that LAHDC Leh will continue to extend full support to such initiatives in future.
Professor Dr Manvi Seth shared that the Community Museum at Gya, Sasoma is the first of its kind in India. She also highlighted the role played by NMI in the creation of thie museum. She thanked LAHDC Leh, Ama Tsogspa (Womenโs Alliance of Ladakh) of Gya village and the people involved in it. She added that this community museum has been established the international museum norms in mind. An MoU is also being prepared regarding this.
Councillor Igoo, Constituency, Sonal Thardos, also addressed during the occasion.

Secretary/Special officer Culture-G1, Tsewang Paljor; Former Councillor and Ama Tsokspa president, members, sarpanch; nambardar and villagers.
