Chief Minister Inaugurates Asia’s Longest Ski Drag Lift at Kongdori, Gulmarg

In a major boost to winter sports infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, the Hon’ble Chief Minister today inaugurated Asia’s longest ski drag lift at Kongdori, Gulmarg. The landmark project is expected to significantly enhance skiing facilities and further elevate Gulmarg’s stature as a premier international winter sports destination.

The newly inaugurated ski drag lift will improve accessibility for skiers, reduce congestion during peak winter seasons, and provide a world-class experience for both professional athletes and tourists. The project marks a major step towards strengthening adventure tourism and positioning Gulmarg prominently on the global winter sports map.

Later in the day, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the rotating conference hall at Affarwat, Gulmarg, a unique and modern facility designed to host conferences, official meetings, and tourism-related events while offering panoramic views of the surrounding snow-clad peaks.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Advisor Nasir Sogami, MLA Gulmarg Farooq Shah, and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq during the inauguration ceremonies.

These inaugurations reflect the government’s continued commitment to upgrading tourism infrastructure, promoting sustainable development, and creating new opportunities for economic growth and employment in the region through adventure and winter tourism.
