Cyber Crime awareness programme held at Kargil

KARGIL, JULY 18 : Cyber Unit Kargil Ladakh Police conducted awareness Programme on Cyber Crime for Members of Young Artists of Kargil Ladakh and Students of SAI at Sports Authority of India Kargil.

The event aimed to educate the youth about the growing risks and challenges associated with cyber crimes, and to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to stay safe online.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from aspiring artists and young sports enthusiasts. Led by a top expert Inspector James Dechen from the Cyber Unit Kargil Ladakh Police, the event included engaging presentations, practical demonstrations, and open discussions on the various cyber security threats prevalent in today’s digital era.

The awareness programme covered a wide range of topics, including online frauds, social media dangers, identity theft, cyber bullying, phishing, and the importance of secure passwords. The participants were also introduced to preventive measures and best practices for maintaining cyber hygiene and protecting their personal information.

This programme aimed to bridge the knowledge gap among the youth and empower them to identify and report cyber crimes effectively.

Inspector James Dechen of the Cyber Unit Kargil Ladakh Police, said that the Education is the key to combating cyber crimes. He added that by conducting awareness programmes like these, we are able to reach out to the youth and equip them with the necessary skills to navigate the digital landscape safely.

The programme was highly appreciated by the attendees who expressed their gratitude towards the Cyber Unit Kargil Ladakh Police for organizing such an insightful event. “We have gained valuable knowledge and feel more confident in safeguarding ourselves from cyber threats,” said one of the participants.
