DC Kargil chairs meeting regarding snow clearance measures
Kargil, Nov 15, 2022: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today chaired a meeting regarding winter preparedness and snow clearance measures at various locations in the district.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Mechanical Division Ladakh, Chief Engineer, VIJYAK, Executive Engineer, Mechanical Division Kargil, Executive Engineer, PMGSY Division Kargil, Executive Officer MC Kargil and GM, NHIDCL, Kargil.
Various issues related to snow clearance measures were discussed threadbare. DC Santosh directed that the requisite manpower and machinery should be kept on standby mode on all major as well as internal link roads to meet any eventuality during winter months.
During the meeting, the concerned officers informed the DC that the Mechanical Division Kargil and NHIDCL are working in close coordination to clear snow and assured uninterrupted connectivity in the district.
The DC said that from 0 to 30 km and 87 to 127 km of road i.e, from Kargil to Khachan and from Parkachik to Rangdum Gompa respectively, will be cleared by the Mechanical Division Kargil while the NHIDCL will ensure the connectivity of Kargil-Zanskar highway.
Representative of NHIDCL informed the Deputy Commissioner that they will work to keep Kargil-Zanskar road clear during winter season so that people don’t face any convenience.
