The Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve convened a meeting of District Level Committee (DLC) for implementation of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana at the mini conference hall, DC office Leh today on September 11.
During the meeting, Power Development Department informed that a total number of 275 applications were submitted on the national portal of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijlli Yojana. Amongst the applications, 29 projects were commissioned, while inspection for 15 are under process. It was also informed that a total number of 10 vendors have registered at the national portal from UT Ladakh.
DC Leh instructed Power Development Department, UT Ladakh to identify consumers who use more electricity through recorded data and reach out to them to avail this scheme. It was also directed to set up a meeting with registered vendors to outreach more and more consumers.
Under the scheme, a top-up subsidy of Rs. 20000/KWp for first 2Kwp of Roof Top Solar capacity and Rs. 10000/kWp for additional RTS capacity of 1kw has been approved by Administration of UT Ladakh. However, there is no subsidy for additional RTS capacity beyond 3KWp either by the central Govt or UT Administration.
Various public and private sector banks are offering loan facilities at attractive interest rates for the consumers to avail this scheme.
The meeting was attended by officers from different departments and banks.
