DC Leh Santosh Sukhadeve reviews performance of education dept under District Capex Budget 

 

Leh, August 1: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve convened a meeting with officers from Education Department to review the pace of progress achieved on different works under the SDP, District Capex, and Subsidy Budgets 2023-24 in the DC mini conference hall.

 

DC Leh reviewed the detailed expenditure status of the department. He inquired about the cause of delay in completion of old projects and directed the officers to ensure completion of the DPRs along with concerned stakeholders on priority basis without compromising on quality.

 

He directed the officials to think of innovative ways to increase enrollments in government schools along with preparing a list of schools with zero enrollment so that the buildings can be used for other purposes.

 

Further, he stressed on the importance of good quality education and directed to ensure effective teaching methodology and full attendance of teachers in schools.

Additionally, while inquiring about various schemes and scholarships, DC Leh directed the concerned officials to raise awareness about scholarships that can be availed for higher studies, providing an opportunity for students, especially from economically weaker sections.

 

Earlier, officials from Education Department apprised the DC about physical targets and financial progress achieved on finished and ongoing developmental works in various blocks.

 

Chief Planning Officer (CPO); Accounts Officer to DC Leh, and other concerned officials from the Education Department attended the meeting.
