Middle School Karith secured 1st position

Leh, Nov 10: The UT level Teaching Learning Material (TLM) Mela 2022 was organised by the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh today at the Eco-Cultural Park, Main Market, Leh.

The day-long event was inaugurated by Principal Secretary, School Education, UT Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar and later, Dy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk also graced the function.

Director, School Education, Dr Safdar Ali; Chief Education Officer, Leh; Dy Chief Education Officer, Leh; Principal, DIET Leh; participating teachers from various schools of both Leh and Kargil districts among others were also present.

The district-level TLM events were held in both districts earlier, and ten participants from Leh and Kargil each were selected to participate and showcase their TLM at the UT-level function.

At the outset, Dy Chairman congratulated the whole teaching fraternity for the remarkable achievement by UT Ladakh in the Performance Grading Index recently released by the Ministry of Education. He added that Ladakh saw major infrastructural development in all the govt schools in the post-UT years. He also lauded the round-the-year activities at DIET Leh/Kargil, such as capacity-building workshops, subject-specific training, and digital learning.

He stressed that school education could be carried forward on par with the global level, and the recent achievement shows the potential to achieve greater heights.

In the UT level TLM Mela 2022, Middle School Karith, Kargil secured 1st position, Middle School Leh secured 2nd position and Middle School Khardoon Chiktan secured 3rd position.

On the occasion, a book titled ‘Vidya Pravesh’ prepared as a guideline for a three-month play-based School Preparation Module for Grade-1 was also launched.

Earlier, the guests inspected the stalls displaying the various innovative and informative teaching-learning materials (TLM) of the participating schools from both the Leh and Kargil districts.
