Director Fisheries UT Ladakh takes stock of ongoing construction work of AD Fisheries Office building

Kargil, Dec 21, 2022:

Director ASH and Fisheries, UT Ladakh, Dr Muhammad Raza today took stock of the ongoing construction work of Assistant Director Fisheries Office building at Kargil which is being constructed under Special Development Package and is near completion.

While taking stock of ongoing construction work of the building, he expressed satisfaction over the quality of work executed by the executing agency.

While interacting with the concerned officers, the director stressed to complete the construction work without further delay and also directed to ensure provision for ramp and toilet facilities for the specially-abled persons as promulgated under PWD Act.

As part of the celebration of ‘Good Governance Week’, the director has stocked 1800 trout fingerlings at a private trout fish farm at Andoo set up by Sajjad Hussain from Kargil.

The fish farm has fish production capacity of 2.5 ton and has been set up under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojna (PMMSY).

While interacting with the farmer, the director reiterated that the department is committed to strengthening rural economy by making fish farming economically more vibrant through the PMMSY. Director was accompanied by Assistant Director Fisheries Kargil.
