Director RD&PRD reviews ongoing developmental works in Kargil

KARGIL, AUGUST 12, 2022: Director Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department (RD&PRD), UT Ladakh Tahir Hussain Zubdavi today convened a review meeting regarding the ongoing developmental works under RDD, at conference hall Baroo.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kargil Ghulam Muhammad, Executive Engineer REW Shabir Hussain, District Panchayat Officer (DPO) Padma Angmo, BDCs, BDOs, President Panchayat Coordination Committee, its executive members attended the meeting.

Detailed discussions and deliberations were held block-wise regarding the ongoing developmental works in the district under RD&PRD. The concerned officers and BDCs apprised the director about the status of ongoing developmental works under different schemes.

The director directed the concerned officers and BDC chairpersons to work in close coordination to complete the developmental works on time.

He also directed the concerned officers to maintain the quality of material while executing the works adding that any contractor found compromising quality will be blacklisted.

Director also directed BDOs to furnish the list of Panchayat Ghars, CFCs and other public convenient buildings within two days period which needs immediate renovation.

The director also suggested holding monthly review meetings with BDCs and BDOs to build coordination with each other besides be updated about the monthly progress of developmental works in their respective areas.

In order to strengthen Panchayats across Ladakh, the director informed the meeting that grant in aid funds for panchayats has been sanctioned by the UT Administration along with the proper guidelines.

He also said in order to avoid duplicacy and other miscellaneous errors, he requested all the stakeholders to make a future plan with proper consultation within the framework of guidelines. He requested to follow the guidelines accordingly.

The director also directed all the concerned officers to make Har Ghar Tiranga campaign successful by hoisting the national flag under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. In this regard, he directed officers to ensure proper implementation of the campaign at ground level. He also took stock of number of flags given through RD&PRD.
