District Administration organizes mock drill on disaster management at GDC Kargil

KARGIL, AUGUST 26, 2022: The 13th Bn NDRF Ludhiana in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority Kargil today organized a mock drill on disaster management at Government Degree College Kargil.

On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani was the chief guest besides other heads of the respective departments, college teachers, students, volunteers were present on the occasion.

The aim of the safety program was to train all the district officers, teaching, non-technical staff, valunteers and students of the college about how to tackle any type of disaster, earthquake, landslide, flash flood, fire and to give pre-hospital treatment.

Assistant Commandant Ranjeet Singh gave a detailed presentation on Disaster Management preparations, disaster event mitigation, cloudburst, possible metrological causes, effects of cloudburst, flood and its types, flood mitigation, rescue system, water safety code, rescue techniques, and other related topics.

Master trainer Hawaldar Pawan Kumar and his team gave the training on first aid, bandaging, CPR, lifting of victims etc.

Assistant Professor Tsetan Dolker during her concluding remarks thanked Chairman DDMA, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, District administration, dustrict officers, DDMK team and all the departments for successfully organizing the training session at the college. She also thanked Assistant Commandant 13th Bn NDRF Ludhiana for imparting training to the students.
