District Child Protection Unit Kargil Celebrates Bal Veer Diwas with Enthusiasm

Kargil, December 26, 2025: The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kargil celebrated Bal Veer Diwas at the Conference Hall of the Cooperative Department, Kargil. The event was graced by Hon’ble Executive Councillor, Social & Tribal Welfare, LAHDC Kargil, Agha Syed Mujtaba, who presided as the Chief Guest.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from children of CCI-Rdeang-e-Tsar, Kargil and staff from Mission Vatsalya. The event commenced with a welcome address by Hamida Banoo, Member, CWC Kargil, followed by Gh. Hasnain, Coordinator SAA Kargil, who highlighted the historical significance of Bal Veers and their supreme courage and sacrifices.

In his address, Chief Guest Agha Syed Mujtaba emphasized the need to nurture courage, resilience, and positive values in children, encouraging them to contribute meaningfully to society. The celebration also featured a live screening of the address by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas.

Awards were distributed by the Hon’ble Executive Councillor to students for their outstanding performances in various competitions conducted by the DCPU, Kargil, appreciating their creativity and talent. Bilquees Fatima, Member CWC Kargil, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, while Neelufar Niyaz, Member JJB Kargil, anchored the proceedings.

The event fostered a spirit of patriotism and acknowledgment of the sacrifices of young heroes, leaving a deep impact on the participants.

As part of its ongoing health and hygiene initiative, the District Child Protection Unit, Kargil, also distributed reusable water bottles to all children residing at Rdeang-e-Tsar Child Care Institution to promote safe drinking practices and environmental responsibility. The initiative aims to encourage the use of reusable bottles and ensure access to clean drinking water for children, stated Dr. Sarwar Shahzad (JKAS).
