DLSA Kargil organizes awareness program on Intl. Girl Child Day at GDC Kargil

 

Kargil, Oct 11, 2023: As per the plan of action and calendar of activities, the District Legal Services Authority Kargil today organized an awareness programme on International Girl Child Day at Government Degree College Kargil.

 

On this occasion, Fariqa Nazir, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil/Secretary District Legal Services Authority Kargil was the chief guest and key speaker, Disket Station House Officer Woman Police Station Kargil was the guest of honour.

 

The programme was also attended by Assistance Professors of Govt. Degree College Kargil, Advocate Nissar Hussain Assistance Legal Aid Defence Counsel Kargil, Hasina Banoo from Special Cell for Women Kargil, DLSA Staff Members, PLVS and 350 college students from above said college.

 

The programme started with the warm welcome of chief guest Fariqa Nazir CJM/ Secretary DLSA Kargil. Farzana Banoo student of Degree College recited a Hindi poem Bati Hota Ha Mafan. During the programme, students also presented a song and also displayed a short film regarding the problems faced by women in society.

 

Fariqa Nazir CJM/Secretary DLSA who was the chief guest/key speaker thoroughly highlighted the importance of the day. She also said that the main purpose of marking such a day is to highlight the importance of achieving gender equality and empowering girls.

 

The SHO Woman Police Station Kargil who was the guest of honor on the occasion also highlighted the importance of women in the society.

 

She informed the female participants especially the students about the Women’s Police Station which was recently opened in the district. Stanzin Gelson, Assistant Professor concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.
