EC Tashi inaugurates Rs 1.27 cr irrigation canal in Zanskar
Kargil, July 30, 2023: In a significant development, Executive Councilor for Tourism, Rural Development, and Zanskar Affairs, LAHDC, Kargil, Er. Phunchok Tashi, today inaugurated the irrigation canal at Chazzer village in Zanskar Sub Division.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of the Chairman of Block Development Council Zanskar, Stanzin Sandup, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay.
Constructed under the Languishing Scheme, the irrigation canal was executed by PWD/Hydraulic Division Zanskar, with an estimated cost of Rs 1.27 crore. The canal boasts a sturdy structure made of concrete cement and a 300 mm diameter flanged HDPE line, ensuring a discharge capacity of 12 cum/sec.
Among those who attended the inauguration ceremony were Executive Engineer, Assistant Executive Engineer, Junior Engineer, Lambardar, Punch, and villagers, who expressed their gratitude for this vital infrastructure development in the region.
