EC Tashi reviews progress of developmental works executed through various agencies in Zanskar

Kargil, July 12, 2024: Executive Councilor, ZDA, RDD, Cooperative and Information, LAHDC, Kargil, Er. Phunchok Tashi on Thursday visited Stakrimo Gonpa, Zungkhul Gonpa, on going construction site of His Holiness Dalai Lama Photang at Karsha and Revenue Complex at Padum to review the progress of ongoing developmental works executed by the government through various agencies.

During the visit, he inspected the PMGSY roads Zungkhul to Tungri bridge, Tungri to Karsha and Old Padum to Stakrimo Monastery. He directed the executing agencies to expedite the progress and ensure to complete the works in targeted time..

At Karsha, the EC inspected various developmental works executed by government. He directed the Engineers of ZDA, REW, Hyd to speed up the progress, so that the works will be completed on time before the programme of His Holiness Dalai Lama visit. Councillor Karsha Stanzin Jikmath, Sub Divisional Officers including SDM, Tehsildar, AEEs and JEs of R&B, PMGSY, ZDA and Hyd accompanied during the visit.

Before the visit, the EC inaugurated the newly constructed Hostel /School building of KGBV near Sports Stadium Padum in presence of Sub Divisional Magistrate, Zanskar, Romil Singh Donk, Padma Shree Tsultrim Chonjor, Tehsildar Zanskar Mohd. Hassan, ZEO Zanskar Tsetan Konchok, staff, parents and students.

During the inauguration function, the EC appreciated teaching staff and students for presenting different activities at the event. He also congratulated them for the new school/ hostel building and other facilities provided by the Government.

EC Tashi also stressed the importance of focusing on education and maintaining the hygiene of food in hostels for students.

The SDM also highlighted the importance of education and congratulated the staff, parents and students of the KGBV School. Students performed various cultural programmes.
