Leh, October 5: The Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department, Leh, organised an awareness camp on ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ for the migrant labourers residing in Leh at the FCS&CA main store.

Speaking on the occasion, Director FCS&CA, Anil Koul, informed that the One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) scheme was implemented in UT Ladakh in August last year. He urged the migrant labourers to avail of this scheme and inform about the same to their friends and acquaintances.

Earlier, Assistant Director, FCS&CA, Leh, Ruth Mary, shared that many migrant labourers in Leh were unaware about collecting ration from Leh. She added that the department is organising awareness camps so that the migrant labourers could avail the benefit of this scheme. She also informed that Aadhar card could be used to avail of the benefits of the One Nation One Ration Card scheme. Further, she added that grievances related to this scheme could be resolved at the FCS&CS department.

The migrant labourers expressed their gratitude to the Centre and UT Administration Ladakh for implementing the ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ in Leh. They shared that the UT Administration helped them by bringing ration to their doorsteps during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The FCS&CA staff also gave a live demonstration on procuring ration through the ONORC scheme to the labourers.
