GDC Zanskar organises Award Ceremony of Annual Sport Events 2023 

Zanskar, November,25-2023: GDC Zanskar today organised an award ceremony of annual sport event 2023.

The annual sports events of the college was organised from 14th September to 16th September 2023 by Department of physical education and Sports of the college.

Various sports and games were the part of the event, including Road race 3km, Road race 100m and 200m, ShotPut, Javelin throw and Discuss throw for both men’s and women’s.

Annual Sports Event at GMDC Zanskar was a thrilling success! Students showcased their talents in various sports.

Students of the college took part in all the events with full enthusiasm. In the 3km Road race men Tsering Norbo of 3rd Semester bagged 1st position, Jigmeth Aker of 1st Semester bagged 2nd and Chemeth Namgyl of 3rd Semester bagged 3rd position.

Similarly in 3km Road race women’s Padma Youdon of 1st Semester hold 1st position, Tsering Dolma 3rd Semester bagged 2nd ,while Tsewang Dolma of 3rd Semester bagged 3rd position.

In men’s Discuss throw Mr Rigzin Dorjay of 5th Semester, Mr stanzin Pounchok 1st semester and Mr Tsering Norbo of 3rd Semester bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

In women’s Discus throw Falzang Angmo 3rd semester bagged 1st position,Tsering youdon of 5th semester bagged 2nd and Stanzin Tashi 1st semester bagged 3rd position.

In men’s Shot put Mr Stanzin Pounchok of 1st Semester, Mr Tsering Norbo of 3rd Semester and lobzang Tsering 1st semester bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

In women shot put Khalida Akhtar 3rd semester bagged 1st position, Stanzin Choskit 1st Semester bagged 2nd position while Ms Padma youdon 1st Semester bagged 3rd Position.

In men’s Javelin throw, Rigzin Dorjay 5th semester got 1st, Namgyl Dorjay 3rd Semester got 2nd and Stanzin Lakpa 1st Semester bagged 3rd position.

In women’s Javelin throw Zahida Banoo 3rd semester bagged 1st, Ms Stanzin Choskit 1st semester bagged 2nd and Ms Stanzin Skalzang 1st semester bagged 3rd position.

Rigzin Dorjay 5th semester bagged 1st position in men 100m race while Ms tsewang Dolma 3rd semester bagged 1st position.

Furthermore Jigmeth Aker 1st semester bagged 1st position and Padma youdon 1st semester bagged 1st position in 200m race.

In the award ceremony students as well as faculty members of the college participated.

Mustafa Ali Physical Director welcomed the participants and briefed the events. He lauded the active supports of College Principal for organising the annual sport events 2023 in order to boost the sports among the college students.

Mohd Ishaq Principal presented Certificates, medals and momentoes to the winners.
