‘Good Governance Week’: Fisheries Department organizes awareness program at Fish Farm Drass
Kargil, Dec 20, 2022: In connection with the celebration of ‘Good Governance Week’ being observed across Kargil district under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), Department of Fisheries Kargil today organized an awareness program at Fish Farm, Drass.
During the program, farmers were sensitized about various Centrally Sponsored Schemes in the district and stressed that aquaculture can play a significant role in providing employment opportunities to unemployed youth in the subdivision.
The officials of the Fisheries Department said Drass is a suitable place for undertaking trout fish farming due to its favorable resources and agroclimatic conditions.
On the occasion, the department also distributed trout feed and trout seed among the progressive fish farmers of Drass.
