KARGIL, MAY 05, 2022

 

Authorities today sealed stone crushing units and a hot and wet mixing plant in Kurbathang area of Kargil after they were found indulged in illegal mining activities.

The move comes after a complaint of general public for illegal mining in the district, after which a surprise inspection was conducted today by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Deputy Director, Geology and Mining, Ladakh, District Mineral Officer, Naib Tehsildar, Kargil and SHO Kargil along with police personnel.

 

During the inspection the owners of three stone crushing units and a hot and wet mixing plant were found indulged in illegal mining activities at Kurbathang and were sealed.

 

Their names include Haji Mehdi Ali (crusher pant), Mohd Murtaza (crusher pant), Mohd Baqir M/S Arman Engineering (crusher pant) and M/S GICL Meraj-Ud-Din Naqvi (hot and wet mixing plant).

 

Moreover, two owners of stone crushing units Abdul Qadir/Showkat Kachoo and Niyaz Ali were issued strict instructions and warning to secure NOCs from the concerned departments regarding installation of plant and quarry licence/permission.
