Kargil Sentinel Brigade, District YSS Office Kargil Commemorate Yom-e-Fateh Platinum Jubilee

Kargil, Nov 17, 2023: Kargil Sentinel Brigade in collaboration with District Youth Services and Sports Office Kargil, today organized Yom-e-Fateh Platinum Jubilee event remarking the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of Kargil by the Indian Army.

The event was graced by the presence of Deputy Superintendent of Police DAR (District Armed Reserved) Stanzin Dorjey, who presided over the function as the chief guest. DYSSO Kargil Abid Ali was the guest of honour.

The commemorative occasion witnessed a spirited archery competition, underscoring the resilience and triumph of the community. A total of 40 skilled archers participated in the event. After an intense competition, 16 archers emerged as the best among their peers, qualifying for the prestigious title of the “Best 16 Archers.”

The athletes were honored with certificates and medals, recognizing their exceptional skill and dedication to the sport.

The archery competition featured distinct categories, with a 50-meter range for male participants and a 30-meter range for their female counterparts.

This inclusionary approach aimed to provide equal opportunities for athletes of all genders, promoting a sense of unity and shared achievement.

The event not only paid homage to history but also fostered a spirit of sportsmanship, echoing the resilience that defines the community of Kargil.
