Know about Mohd Jabir National Teacher Awardee

Shri. Mohd Jabir has done his B.Ed, M.Ed, M.A and M.Phil. English (all) with first division. He has also qualified in UGC-NET Education, JK-SET English and Central Teacher Eligibility Test (C-TET). He has the honor of being the first Ladakhi Teacher to secure 1st position in the Teacher Course of RIE Chandigarh Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching of English (PGCTE). He presently teaches English and Environmental Studies in his school at MS Karith. He strongly believes in creating learning environment by strengthening the day to day enjoying activities of children. One day, he saw a group of students enjoying while clapping in a circular fashion and they were singing, MUMBAI MAY AIK THEY SCHOOL, LIKHANA PADNA BAY FOZOOL,…… Later, he has seen many other groups chanting the same while clapping. So, acting smartly as per children’s psychology, he used the same rhythm for teaching English Phonetics, Grammar, Vocabularies and many others. In this way, he has been getting succeeded in teaching many concepts in different subjects. His innovations and initiatives taken for creating joyful learning environment include Learning while Clapping, Singing with Ladakhi Flavor, Singing with English Flavor, Prose Singing Strategy, Learning with Body Language, Teaching via Slogan Technique, Language Games, Enjoying English Speaking, Enjoying EVS, Teaching in Open Air, Proper Utilization of Digital Equipments, Organizing Reading Competitions, Writing via Cursive Mode, Story Role Playing, COVID 19 Whatsapp Classroom, Offline Notes and Online Assessments etc. His mission is to free students from all types of punishments particularly stress and psychological punishments etc. That is why, he is constantly motivating other teachers also in the district for experiential and joyful teaching learning processes by sharing his feelings, emotions, ideas and techniques with other teachers during online or offline training sessions and meets etc. He has published many classroom teaching learning based papers in reputed national and international journals.

Most recently, his research paper entitled, ROLE OF SHORT STORIES IN DEVELOPING ENGLISH LISTENING SKILL has been published in the VOICE OF TEACHERS AND TEACHER EDUCATORS which is a reputed journal of Ministry of Education managed by NCERT and he becomes the first Ladakhi teacher having this honour. He has played a vital role as member secretary in developing position paper on Social Science Education for SCF-NCF in UT of Ladakh. Moreover, he did his best as members in the focus groups of some other areas also for the development of such papers. He has also drafted a detailed guideline along with other members on Twinning of Government and Private Schools for the implementation of NEP 2020 in the union territory. He has successfully coordinated for NCERT based Foundational Learning Study 2022 in district Kargil alongwith other coordinators and achieved 92 percent plus in the assessment of sampled students in identified schools.
