LAHDC Kargil bids farewell to DC Santosh Sukhadeve

Kargil, July 13, 2023: The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil on Wednesday organized a farewell in honor of Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, after completing successful more than two-year tenure in Kargil district of Union Territory of Ladakh.

The farewell party was held at TFC Biamathang, Kargil and witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan, EC Social Welfare, Agha Syed Mehdi Fazilly, EC Works Mubarak Shah Naqvi, EC, RD Tourism and Zanskar Affairs, Er. Phunchok Tashi, EC, Health, Mohsin Ali, SP Kargil, Anayat Ali Chowdhury, ADC Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani, SE, PHE, I&FC, Maqbool Hussain, SE, R&B, Mutalib Hussain, Addl. Superintendent of Police, Councilors from different constituencies, representatives of all religious and political organisations, District Officers of various departments, were also present.

The CEC commended the tireless and dedicated services rendered by DC Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve throughout his career, particularly during his tenure in Kargil district.

He said it was a blessing to have such a personality with administration authority. He appreciated DC Santosh’s work and coordination with district officials and LAHDC, Kargil for development of the district. He extended best wishes to DC Santosh for his future endeavors.

The CEC cherished the valuable milestones that the DC Santosh left behind in Kargil. He also appreciated the way DC Santosh worked with the LAHDC, Kargil.

He said the Deputy Commissioner made Kargil Sub-Ordinate Service Recruitment Board (KSSRB) a model for Kargil district. He thanked DC Santosh for his cooperation and support with the LAHDC in maintaining law and order.

Khan hailed the transparency maintained during the KSSRB exams conducted under the supervision of DC Santosh. He said the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic was also successfully managed in Kargil by DC Santosh.

The CEC said the strategies, plans and decisions of the DC are praiseworthy. He talked about the fair exams conducted in Zanskar Sub Division under the supervision of DC Santosh.

The CEC said the DC maintained the expenditure of District Capex in the best possible way and has ensured 100 percent transparency.

Khan appreciated the coordination between LAHDC Kargil and District Administration that became possible only due to support and intellectual capabilities of DC Santosh.

At the event, Superintendent of Police Kargil, Anayat Ali Chowdhury said that DC Santosh successfully maintained law and order during his tenure.

On the occasion, Councilors from different constituencies expressed their thoughts over the successful two-year and five months tenure of DC Santosh in Kargil.

They also highlighted the exceptional achievements of DC Santosh during his tenure in Kargil.

Representatives of all religious and political organisations hailed the services of DC during his tenure in Kargil.

Notably, he played a pivotal role in successfully creating a recruitment body KSSRB and conducted its examination successfully and in a transparent way.

Additionally, the DC successfully organized various awareness and exposure programs and guided various activities to boost the development in the district. His dedication and vision led to significant infrastructure development in Kargil.

During his tenure, the construction of the 300-bedded New District Hospital was also a notable achievement. This state-of-the-art hospital has come as a relief for patients in the district.

Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve expressed his gratitude to the LAHDC Kargil for organizing the memorable farewell party in his honor.

He extended gratitude to Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Executive Councilors, Councilors and District Officers for their unwavering support and cooperation during his tenure. He also shared his valuable experiences from his service in Kargil.

As a token of love and appreciation, the CEC, ECs Councilors and all the district officers of Kargil came together in a traditional manner to present traditional Khataks and special gifts to DC Santosh.

This gesture served as a symbol of gratitude for the exemplary service and dedication demonstrated by DC Santosh throughout his tenure in Kargil.

The farewell organized by LAHDC Kargil not only celebrated DC Santosh’s achievements but also showcased unity and camaraderie among the district officers and the wider community in bidding farewell to a respected and esteemed team leader.

Chief Controller of Finance, Iftikhar Hussain presented vote of thanks to all participants adding that the reconciliation of the audit of council accounts, income and expenditure since its inception, till ending financial year 2023-24 was done under the leadership of DC Santosh.

DC Santosh took over as the 30th Deputy Commissioner of Kargil district in February 2021 from the then outgoing DC/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary.

Santosh Sukhadeve, a 2017 batch IAS officer of J&K Cadre, had earlier served as the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mahore with the additional charge of Sub-Registrar, Mahore.
