LG Kavinder Gupta Inaugurates Advanced 3 Tesla MRI Facility at District Hospital Kargil

Kargil, Dec 24: In a significant boost to healthcare services in Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor Shri Kavinder Gupta inaugurated a state-of-the-art 3 Tesla MRI facility worth ₹25.9 crore at District Hospital Kargil. Describing the inauguration as a proud milestone, the LG said the facility would greatly benefit not only the people of Kargil but the entire Union Territory of Ladakh.

Calling it a reflection of the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure in remote regions, LG Gupta emphasized that geographical remoteness will no longer be a barrier to accessing world-class medical services. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for enabling the expansion of advanced healthcare facilities to distant and hilly border regions like Ladakh.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted that the modern 3 Tesla MRI system will ensure accurate and timely diagnosis while greatly reducing the need for patients to travel outside Ladakh for specialized medical examinations. Despite Ladakh’s challenging geographical and climatic conditions, the facility promises high-quality diagnostic support to residents, particularly those in remote and underserved areas.

The establishment of this advanced diagnostic center marks a major step forward in improving healthcare standards in the Union Territory and ensuring equitable medical access for all citizens of Ladakh.
