LPMRU conducts awareness-cum-workshop

Leh, July 19: Ladakh Price Monitoring and Resource Unit (LPMRU) in collaboration with Drug Department, UT Ladakh organised an awareness-cum-workshop/Orientation session at Shenam community Hall Leh on July 18-19 for the members of the Chemist Association Leh, Government Pharmacists and Nunnery Association Leh.

The awareness campaign focused on important topics, including Centrally Sponsored Scheme ‘Consumer Awareness, Publicity & Price Monitoring’ on medicines and medical devices; All the related information regarding medicines, its price related issues and other necessary points to look out while purchasing and consuming medicines; Prevention of Drug Abuse/Drug Addiction among the children/Adolescence and illicit trafficking.

The LPMRU team headed by Assistant Controller Drugs/Member Secretary, Nasreen Bano; Project Coordinator LPMRU, Nawang Tsetan; Field Investigator LPMRU, Nazia Kouser were the main speakers.

All the participants were urged to follow and spread the information shared to them and act proactively in prevention of drug abuse /addiction and illicit trafficking among the

adolescence/children which has become a great challenge to the society. They were urged to play their role in helping the administration and the society as a whole to eradicate the menaces of drug addiction and to guide the people on the importance of medicines and the necessary measures to be followed during their storage and usage.

A pamphlet focusing on the shared topics were also distributed among the participants for wider dissemination of the knowledge.
