LMSME Ministry organised awareness programme on ZED for MSME sector in Ladakh

Leh, Jan 31: MSME – Development & Facilitation Office for Ladakh under the Ministry of MSME GoI, today organised a webinar on ZED Sustainable Scheme for MSME Sector for Ladakh participants.

Joint Director, MSME DFO, G.Velladurai said that ZED is actually a self-assessment tool and excellent framework besides being a certification scheme where units are rated as Gold, Silver and Bronze. In order to be competitive in the market and ensure sustainability, MSME should go through this system and process certification. He said besides the Ministry, many states across the country have started incorporating ZED in their schemes to provide additional benefits on the basis of ratings.

Also, stressed on the importance of ZED scheme of GoI and advised all MSMEs to come forward and register on ZED portal. He said the Ministry has worked out district-wise targets all across the country in order to register a maximum number of MSMEs under ZED scheme and all possible support will be provided to MSMEs in this regard.

Director, Department of Industries & Commerce Ladakh, Nazir Ahmed Shah thanked MSME DFO for organising this awareness programme. Also, insisted on such programmes in future, so that MSME sector in Ladakh would benefit & also compete in global market which was accepted by Joint Director of MSME DFO for Ladakh.

Sonal Saggi, Consultant gave a detailed presentation on the ZED scheme and procedure for availing Bronze, Silver or Gold rating. Around 60 participants’ attended the program.

Director QCI, Ramanand Shukla informed the participants about the importance of ZED in context of Ladakh & appealed all the MSME participants to make use of the programme for getting required information on ZED & implement ZED in their units for producing products with Zero defect & Zero effect on environment.

The webinar was attended by Director of Industries & Commerce, Ladakh, Nazir Ahmed Shah; Chairman, Ladakh Chamber of Commerce, Tashi Khachu; Joint Director, MSME DFO for Ladakh, G.Velladurai ; Director, QCI, Ramanand Shukla and Sonal Saggi, ZED consultant New Delhi. The programme was co- ordinated by Vinu Jee Koul, MSME DFO for Ladakh.
