Poshan Maah concludes at Wakha Mulbekh Panchayat

KARGI, SEPTEMBER 29, 2022:

Poshan Maah today concluded at Wakha Mulbekh Panchayat marking the end of month-long activities under the Prime Minister’s outreach program of Poshan Abhiyaan in Kargil district during September.

BDC, Shargole, Tsering Nurboo, CDPO, Shargole Project, Farida Banoo, Supervisors, Sarpanch Wakha, Tsering Stanzin, Panches, Nambardar Wakha, Hasina Batool from Special Cell for Women, Supervisor Zubida Banoo, medical staff, workers, helpers of Anganwadi centres, villagers of Wakhha Mulbeck participated in the closing ceremony.

On the occasion, the CDPO appreciated the efforts of the field workers including Anganwadi workers, and supervisors who have ensured the implementation of different government schemes on the ground. She spoke about eradicating malnutrition and highlighted the achievements besides informing about future plans and targets.

The CDPO said during the month, the ICDS Department worked tirelessly in a mission mode to identify malnourished children and provided them adequate nutrition and healthcare. She said that convergence among departments especially Health and Education is the key to tackle malnutrition among children.

The health workers emphasized for improving nutritional outcomes for children, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers and also suggested for creating a micronutrient environment in every village.

Earlier, Hasina Batool from Special Cell for Women, under National Commission for Women, highlighted the services of the cell and also threw light on domestic violence, physical abuse, mental abuse, financial abuse etc. She urged the villagers to come forward and break the silence.

Meanwhile, Supervisor Zubida Banoo further highlighted the need to increase nutritional awareness and response among all stakeholders about vital nutrition behaviours.

She also recounted the journey of the ICDS department during five years of Poshan Abhiyan. Later, the BDC presented vote of thanks.
