Leh, January 27: The Principal Secretary, Planning Development & Monitoring Department UT Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal convened a meeting in his office chamber to discuss the calculation of the Gross Domestic Product of UT Ladakh.
In the meeting, the officials deliberated on the various sectors of production in UT Ladakh and apprised the Principal Secretary of the status of development in all sectors. Principal Secretary, Dr. Kotwal directed the concerned officials for the early finalization of GSDP of UT Ladakh in consultation with the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), New Delhi.
Further, Dr Kotwal stated that training would be imparted to the new recruits ( JSAs) as soon as their selection is finalised by the SSC so that the work of collection of data and statistics could be done on a sound scientific basis in the UT of Ladakh for its planned development and for raising the various socioeconomic indicators with methodical interventions and for optimum utilisation of resources in the interest of the people of Ladakh. Also, he exhorted that all pending work should be completed on time by February 15, 2023.
The meeting was attended by District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, Leh, Tsewang Gyalson; District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, Kargil, K Mohd Hussain; Officials of GSDP Cell Leh/Kargil, and other concerned officials.
