Regional PF Commissioner Rizwan Uddin conducts outreach prog in Leh
Leh, Oct 03: Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, UT J&K and Ladakh, Rizwan Uddin chaired a meeting regarding Vision@2047- Outreach programme in aspirational and border districts at DC Conference Hall, Leh today with the concerned departmental officers and stakeholders.
At the outset, Regional PF Commissioner, Rizwan Uddin highlighted the importance of enrolling employees, contractual or casual, under the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) to extend the benefits of social security schemes.
He spoke at length about the schemes framed under EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, such as the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952, Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976 and Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995. He shared about the modalities of employees’ contributions and administrative charges regarding the same schemes.
Rizwan Uddin stressed ensuring that the outsourcing agencies and contractors hired by the departments are remitting provident funds timely and appropriately. He also assured to resolve the issues faced by the departments and other agencies like NHPC, and NHIDCL by providing handholding support and training as per the requirements and needs.
The meeting also deliberated on various other issues, including the Principal Employers Portal; Problems associated with the implementation of EPF and MP Act, 1952; Coverage of establishment and enrollment of members; issues related to enrollment of members, UAN activation, and KYC seeding. Issues relevant to compliance with the Act; members/beneficiaries under schemes were also discussed along with the doubts and queries raised by the participants.
Chief Wildlife Warden, UT Ladakh; Director, Finance Department, UT Ladakh; Director, Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department, UT Ladakh; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Leh; Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Leh; Officers from various other departments like PWD, PDD, PHE, District Industries Centre, Tourism, Food Corporation India besides representatives from other agencies/establishments, including HIMANK, DRDO, IOCL, NHIDCL, NHPC, Archaeological Survey of India attended the meeting.
Similarly, Office of the Regional PF Commissioner, J&K and Ladakh headed by Rizwan Uddin is scheduled to have a conference with all the schools of the district at Lamdon Model Senior Secondary School and the hoteliers in association with Tourism Department at DC Conference Hall on October 04.
