Leh, May 6:
Administrative Secretary, Power, and Renewable Energy, UT Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar convened a meeting to review the progress of all the Centrally Sponsored Schemes under implementation in the UT such as IPDS, RAPDRP-B, PMDP Urban, PMDP Rural, DDUGJY and Transmission line to Padum and Diskit.
Chief Engineer Distribution (PDD), Superintending Engineer PDD, Executive Engineer, Electric Distribution Division Leh and Kargil, Executive Engineer Project Wing PDD attended the meeting.
At the onset, the Secretary reviewed all the schemes of IPDS, RAPDRP, and DDUGJY which were under implementation in the Leh and Kargil districts of UT Ladakh. Addl. CEO RECPDCL briefed about pending works under the IPDS and RAPDP Scheme and committed that all balance pending works such as charging of Distribution transformers and consumer connection shall be completed by the end of May 2022. General Manager RE Works PGCIL committed that all balance works under the closed scheme of DDUGJY shall be completed by June 2022.
Regarding the ongoing Rural Distribution Strengthening schemes of PMDP Urban and PMDP Rural, the Secretary, Power directed the agencies to complete all the works by the end of October 2022 keeping in view the short working season of Ladakh and plan for deployment of man and material accordingly. He also stressed that the timeline for the additional sanctioned PMDP Urban and Rural shall have the same timeline for completion. Therefore, he directed the agencies to complete the survey of the works and start the works on site.
Addl. CEO RECPDCL, P.S. Hariharan for the construction of 220 KV Phyang-Disket and Drass-Padum Transmission Line also attended the meeting and briefed the Secretary on the ongoing progress of the project. The works at the Disket Substation have been commenced and the Phyang-Disket Transmission line shall also be commenced soon after availing of NOC from Wildlife Department which is already under process. The Drass-Padum Transmission Line and Substation works at Padum have been commenced. The completion date for both projects is October 2023.
Secretary, Power concluded the meeting with instruction to all the implementing agencies (RECPDCL, PGCIL) to manage the man and material for completion of the works within the approved timelines and to have a plan for contingencies also so that immediate benefit is delivered to the public.
Secretary Power also reviewed the progress report of LREDA and KREDA, regarding their ongoing Small Hydro projects and Solar plants and their future action plans. He also directed both agencies for expediting works to give quality power to remote areas.
Addl. CEO RECPDCL, General Manager (RE) PGCIL, and other officers from RECPDCL and PGCIL also attended the meeting.
