Skill Development Training for Girls and Women Announced Under Mission Shakti in Kargil

Kargil, December 13, 2025:

The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Mission Shakti, under the Department of Social and Tribal Welfare, UT Ladakh, has invited applications for a free skill development training programme for girls and women in District Kargil.

As per the public notice issued by DHEW Kargil, the training is being offered under the Mission Shakti initiative with the objective of enhancing employable skills and promoting self-reliance among women.

Details of the Training Programme:

Course Name: Product Assembly Assistant (Solar LED) Intake Capacity: 30 candidates Selection Basis: First come, first serve Training Cost: Free of cost

Interested beneficiaries are required to submit their application forms along with requisite documents in person at the Office of the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Mission Shakti, Department of Social & Tribal Welfare, located near Police Post, Main Bazar, Kargil.

Applications must be submitted within five days from the date of issuance of the notice.

To facilitate participation, the department has also informed that free transportation will be provided from Bus Stand Kargil to NIELIT Chutuk, Kargil, where the training will be conducted.

The notice has been issued by the District Programme Officer, ICDS Project Kargil, and copies have been forwarded to concerned authorities for information.

The initiative is expected to play a significant role in skill enhancement, employment generation, and women empowerment in the region.
