In view of the increasing cases of digital fraud and fake mobile applications, citizens are strongly advised to remain vigilant while using online government services, particularly DigiLocker, a key digital platform of the Government of India.
Authorities have urged users to download the DigiLocker app only from official and verified sources, as several fake or lookalike applications are being circulated to mislead users and steal sensitive personal information.
Important Safety Guidelines for Users
To ensure digital safety and prevent misuse of personal data, citizens are advised to follow these precautions:
Download the official DigiLocker app only from @digilocker_ind, issued by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Government of India. Verify the authenticity of the application before entering any personal or confidential details. Avoid clicking on suspicious links, pop-ups, or messages asking for Aadhaar, OTPs, or other sensitive information. Immediately report any suspicious activity or fraud to the concerned authorities.

DigiLocker provides secure access to important documents such as Aadhaar, driving licence, and educational certificates. However, users must exercise caution to prevent unauthorized access and data theft.
