The District Social Welfare Office (DSWO) Leh, in collaboration with PAGIR (People’s Action Group for Inclusion and Rights), celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities today. The event was held under the theme *”Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future”* and highlighted the importance of empowering individuals with disabilities to lead the way toward a more inclusive society.
The event was graced by Padma Angmo, Commissioner Secretary, Social and Tribal Welfare Department, UT Ladakh, as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries Shri Sonam Chosjor, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Leh, and Mr. Tsewang Dorjay, President of PAGIR, who shared their valuable insights on fostering inclusion and accessibility for persons with disabilities in Ladakh.
In his welcome address, District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Inzar Ahmed Rana expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests and participants, including representatives from Munsel School and Rewa Society Ladakh. He emphasized the commitment of the District Social Welfare Office to promote the rights and leadership of persons with disabilities in the region.

Cultural performances by students of Munsel School and member of PAGIR, showcasing their talents and creativity.
A Nukkad Natak (street play) performed by the staff of the District De-addiction Centre (DDAC) Leh
A key highlight of the event was the *distribution of motorized tri-scooties* to beneficiaries under the *Kunsyoms Scheme*, an LAHDC initiative aimed at enhancing the mobility and independence of persons with disabilities in Ladakh. This gesture underscored the administration’s commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and fostering their participation in society.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the organizers, who reaffirmed their dedication to promoting the rights, dignity, and leadership of persons with disabilities in Ladakh.
